You are a vendor, not a fulltime employee

A lot of us have been vendors at different companies. My friends working in services companies work as vendors; the client-vendor relationship makes a whole lot of difference to the client (client is paramount, but to get the best work done, he needs to keep the vendor happy), I hope the clients understand this. I work with vendors, there is no difference what-so-ever between a fulltime employee and a vendor (that’s how it is supposed to be). You recruit talent not a vendor, note that.

Seth Godin has written a superb article on this, talent and vendors.
