Shit people tell themselves: I don't want to be a part of the rat race
Whatever is that I do, I tend to see how others with the same capabilities & opportunities as I are doing; and then I arrive at we I did was good or not-so-good. It is motivating to feel that I am competing against myself, and I tried to see it that way for a long time, but that is just horseshit! I will be as I am if I don't have an outside competition that is unsettling my need to be good/better. I don't always feel good about getting a reward if that reward simply appreciated the status quo. I feel truly rewarded whenever the reward (that I got) was up for grabs and everyone was trying to grab it. In all seriousness, I like rat-races and I want to be a top-rat. So be it! Life shouldn't be lived like a rat races. I think, there are many rat-races going on that we should be participating in & that we should strive to be a top-rat in as many rat races as possible.
