I PUBLISH, THEREFORE I AM

Rage against the government. Classic! It's good to see that each one of us is really really sad and angry about the gang rape incident , and that we feel that these rapists be severely (actually, very very severely and publicly) punished. We want severe punishment not just to hurt those rapists, but we want this punishment to be a message to the whole country that rape is a really fucked-up thing to do and that the consequences of raping someone is so bad that one should not just be morally-obliged but terrified of doing such an act. Great! Extreme measures are really called for. We all want a message to be sent to those who dare think about raping someone. But,  what's mind boggling is that some of us are talking about why isn't the government doing something quickly. Some people demand that they be hanged or killed right away. Well! I just want to tell these people that the government is not playing some video-game! Be real, don't let your anger take over y...

Funny! If you make a pie chart and try to categorize the kind of things guys talk about, you’ll see, it’s usually about  work, women, entertainment, leadership, politics, beliefs, and injustice . Guys solve a lot of problems orally and for some reason, whatever topic it may be, everyone in the group has some shitty story or at least an opinion (some are made up and some are real stories, but the point it, it doesn't matter as long as it's interesting). Why would you want to read this?  I don't know why, maybe you don't need it... totally up to you!  I am not writing this to solve a problem or for some greater good...this shit was in my mind for a long time...whenever guys drink, I've noticed that we somehow discuss the same things over and over...if you are some scientist or some person who wants answers, then you might want to read this :)! Voila! By the way, guys don't always cover everything  everytime ...b...

One of my favorite comedian says “if you had to explain it then the joke wasn’t funny enough.” I attended a lot of presentations (2 hour sessions) recently, and I found that some of the presenters started their presentation by saying things that made me think about the joke-wasn’t-funny-enough-scenario . They started their presentation by saying: “I think most of you already know this...” - This line rapes the quality of the presentation like anything. As in, if I already know this subject , why should I pay any attention? Also, the audience is keen on learning something new or something cool; saying “you already know it” is like telling the audience “bad luck, I am going to waste 2 hours of your time”. And anyway, if you start your presentation and half-way thru I sense that I already know what you are talking about, I would (invariably) not pay much attention. “I want this session to be interactive” - Certainly, interactive sessions are great. After a long day at work, I was all set to head to Delhi and my only agenda was to learn all that I can from the 10 day course for publishing professionals. And yes, I thought that everyday after the course, I'll do office work (duh!). So, I came to Delhi and I started with the condensed course at the Institute of Book Publishing . The first day was brilliant, I saw a really pretty girl walk-in and I was like, great! :-) But then there was another surprise waiting for me. I got a nice scholarship for the article I submitted to the Institute of Book Publishing. Way to go! My having a hard-time with school books was put to use in the article "How can digital publishing change the face of education". As they say, you can only connect the dots looking backwards. Then, just when the publishing course was about to start, 6 really fancy people walked in.
