…to get a demo from an experienced co worker than to
read a manual to understand a task.
…to get a movie review from a friend who has the same taste as you than to follow the ratings of a newspaper or a movie critique.
…to ask for a job from the guy who is already in that job than to look for HR consultancies on the job portals.
…to get your book reviewed by people who belong to your target audience than to get an editor to review the book for the target audience.
It’s not about what’s right. It’s about what’s straightforward and the easiest. All the things after the than are the traditional ways of doing things, and that’s why they are the de-facto methods of doing things.
Let me know of one really important work item, in which you choose to go the convenient way than the tradition way of doing it? IMO, convenience is of higher priority for certain tasks. Traditional ways are great, no doubt! But, some of us ain't traditional.
