Hyderabad Job Fair

This was my first job fair, I remember the time when I saw thousands of people coming to our college for a single company offcampus opening (I think it was TCS), Now yesterday I had been to one naukri.com job fair which was really awaited (i.e. I had registered for it around a month back).  


I had lotsa expectations from it, Most of the time I was thinking whether I'd get a job or not but now that I've attended the fair, its pretty clear that job fairs are just for collecting scraps & filling dustbins. Thats what I felt coz the whole exhibition had no openings which were ready for consumption (expect BPO & Bosch). All the companies which were present just collected our CV's and told us that they would get back to us after reviewing our resume. Now how on earth would they be doing that, I seriously have major doubts over the reviewing pattern (as there are more that 40 thousand CV's).

Things which couldnt go unnoticed
  1. The crowd- jobs are really in dearth & people (including me) are so damn jobless..LOL
  2. The ticket system- In the begining I thought tickets are essential for applying for jobs in the fair, but then it eventually served no purpose (apart from entry). It was souly for the fair purpose which wanted a count of number of attendants...I was so pissed to know about this coz the ticket queues were pretty long & people had to wait a long time for that silly ticket
  3. CV baskets/dustbins- its was so damn hillarious, I just bursted out infront of one office (name withheld) counter as they were collecting CV's in a huge basket where people were just throwing their CV's without knowing the opening with them (I was one amongst them)
  4. Its a 10 minute affair- I was such a fool to dress in formals...for all those attending job fairs, just go in casuals as there are no job interviews & its just "CV droppings" as I call from my experience.
PS: There is no way I am getting any call from any of them (damn sure of that)
PS: had a good lunch @ HYDERABAD HOUSE on our way back from HITEX exhibition center.

last but not the least, naukri.com is doing a great great job as these fair's generate thousands of jobs & plenty employment. I'm Really thankful for your move towards the recruitment process. Thank you!!

ohh these bloody TV channels are so damn getting into my nerves that its content has made me to write an article on my blog। There is absolutely no dilution of the channel content for weeks 2 go, I have been watching TV just coz I have all the time in this world till I get my joining date ;-) but again there is nothing left for me 2 watch as they broadcast the same thing again and again. WHATS THERE 2 CHANGE MUSIC- plz stop darde disco, ankhon mei teri, mauja mauja & move your body baby etc etc, Put some tracks which may date back 2 the 70s but not these again and again. If not the old list, start with some new movie albums and some tracks from strings or junoon which are nowhere 2 be seen. TV shows- start new seasons of the shows like friends, sienfeld or the OC, the desperate housewives or else change the show itself but plz dont torture with the same season again and again. The only best part of the channels- THE EVER CHANGING ADVERTISING SECTOR WHICH COMES UP WITH EXTREMELY CR...

Wipro- Reporting day

Better late than never...a perfect beginning for my blog post. It's time to write about my unexpected event which certainly did come to reality today. I used to search google for a post like this in my final year/post placements/post engineering but I never found anything informative & straight to the point with regards to the reporting day ( not trying to boast, really!! )...So, I've put in a little effort to give you the exact picture of whats what on the reporting day!! Wipro Technologies did is for us, it was our reporting day today (27th April 2009). Our training starts on May 4th 2009 (one more week to go). Let me just rewind & play the whole day. Reporting at Wipro office , (Guindy) Chennai- reached half an hour before and the process started just as we reached i.e. at 8:00am (bang on time) Talent ready to transform Form filling - have everything calculated to enter in your form i.e. all the 10th,12th & semester wise percentages.
