Don't ask questions you know the answers to
What you are thinking is why would anybody ask such questions…but, it’s funny that a lot of us do ask such questions when we know that a smarty-pants in on the receiver’s end and he doesn’t seem to think the same about us; As in, we consciously ask them such questions to make sure that he knows that we know all he knows (re-read the last 10 words ;-)). If that was confusing, all I meant was – we ask those questions because we want to tell him -“I am well aware of all that you know, I am equally smart”.
I might be generalizing a bit (may be a byte ;-)), but, I think asking questions just because it’s a GOOD ONE is no reason to ask it. Ask only those questions you need answers to. We are smart, it’s just that we are trying too hard not to be. So, even if the question you know the answer to is a really smart one, keep it to yourself (share it with the others because you want to make sure everyone knows about it, but don’t question and answer yourself, that’s just lame).
