Maturity takes time

It really takes time for important things to develop/build/grow, Maturity is the name of the game and primarily,it is the journey which is the real deal and not the goal.

What seems all of a sudden:
  • Dandruff doesn't not come to your hair all of a sudden- it needs around a fortnight to settle down and give you a hint that its there.
  • Tumor is not tumor in the beginning, it is a swelling which warns you, threatens you, punishes you and then finally becomes a tumor to kill you. So, even a tumor is not all of a sudden.
  • A leader is someone who not only knows about "how to lead" but should also be clear about "how to be led". So, even leadership isn't all of a sudden.
  • A rude comment is like a slap, plenty of it is a dent and then finally, more of it is a hole. Naturally, even rude behavior takes time to knock us down.

You might have what it takes, but it takes time for you to understand how to make use of all that you have.

Reminds me of the book The Alchemist ;-). If you see a guy reading better than you, its because he is reading from when he was 5 yrs old and you have just started reading that stuff (he/she is really matured), Nadal is playing from when he was 3 yrs old and don't compare his age to your age and fix on levels.

Bottom line: Its not all of a sudden that kids score great in competitive exams or become a sporting star with very less preparation. Its just that the required preparation is already done over the years and they are ready for it, but on the other hand, you have just started the real preparation and you will surely take the same amount of time as them.
