SIVAMANI'S Drums On Fire

Yesterday night, I attended a musical from the very ace drummer Sivamani. Its not that, I m seeing him play live for the first time, but its always been some miles away and the noisy crowd never allowed me to meticulously watch his creations.

The invites for the show

This fellow is a real master piece & its quite evident from his LIVE performance. Music here @ home on the dvd drives feels no miracle but when I saw that being produced live, It was kinda earth shattering experience for me (music vise).

Its not just how he plays is special, its also what he plays is mind blowing!!

The things which he used apart from his authentic band (set) instrument:
  1. Suitcase
  2. Spoon
  3. Plates
  4. Frying Pan
  5. Bisleri 20 Liter can
  6. Cycle bells
  7. Traffic signal vocals
  8. & a lot of other cooking utensils & day 2 day use ables
I had heard about him playing all this & felt silly on hearing about such a show, but its truly a result of intense practice and hard work. Its literally unbelievable that, with just the same 2 hands he plays drums as if it were some 10 hands. He would have played continuously for about 1hr15mins without any hint of him loosing his enthusiasm or energy.

In the end, he played songs from popular movies which generated him a lot of shouts:
  1. SIVAJI- Oru Kudai Sunlight
  2. BOMBAY- Humma Humma
  3. RANG DE BASANTI- Theme song
The show ended @ around 9:30pm and we headed to our respective homes, BTW I had a pass for two wherein I took my friend JOE with me for the musical. Also, after he finished his final beat, he was showered with claps and shouts & off course the STANDING OVATION was required and felt worth it for the performance.

PS: In the end, when it was "vote of thanks" session; He (sivamani) told that everything done was spontaneous i.e. nothing was prepared (duh!!...quite believable)
PS: BTW it was not that I wanted 2 go for sure, actually I dint even know about such a show happening. Its just that my father got a free pass 4 two which drove 2 me to it. Everybody there was a HSBC Premier PLATINUM CARD holder. There were no tickets sold for the show, it was just the "customer relationship" strata of HSBC people to organize such a show.
PS: Commuting was not a probs, its was nearby in "abids" which is around 5-6kms from here.
PS: most of all, People seem to love a genre of his rhythm which is widely used amongst tamilians as "gaana pattu". That was something which all together moved everyone.
PS: I would surly attend other shows of his (off course with the free pass ;-D) and hope that he doesn't do the same things again..cheers

ohh these bloody TV channels are so damn getting into my nerves that its content has made me to write an article on my blog। There is absolutely no dilution of the channel content for weeks 2 go, I have been watching TV just coz I have all the time in this world till I get my joining date ;-) but again there is nothing left for me 2 watch as they broadcast the same thing again and again. WHATS THERE 2 CHANGE MUSIC- plz stop darde disco, ankhon mei teri, mauja mauja & move your body baby etc etc, Put some tracks which may date back 2 the 70s but not these again and again. If not the old list, start with some new movie albums and some tracks from strings or junoon which are nowhere 2 be seen. TV shows- start new seasons of the shows like friends, sienfeld or the OC, the desperate housewives or else change the show itself but plz dont torture with the same season again and again. The only best part of the channels- THE EVER CHANGING ADVERTISING SECTOR WHICH COMES UP WITH EXTREMELY CR...

Wipro- Reporting day

Better late than never...a perfect beginning for my blog post. It's time to write about my unexpected event which certainly did come to reality today. I used to search google for a post like this in my final year/post placements/post engineering but I never found anything informative & straight to the point with regards to the reporting day ( not trying to boast, really!! )...So, I've put in a little effort to give you the exact picture of whats what on the reporting day!! Wipro Technologies did is for us, it was our reporting day today (27th April 2009). Our training starts on May 4th 2009 (one more week to go). Let me just rewind & play the whole day.
