Convert a dominant participant to a reluctant participant
If you are a leader of a team and it is very apparent that you have a worker who is doing a lot of crucial work in your team, then making the worker work his ass-off is the best for the team’s progress. But mind it! The guy who gets the job done has an unfulfilled agenda, which only you can fulfill; understand that very well! You don’t get high productivity just like that! And if you don’t take care of his agenda, the chances are that you are going to turn him from being a dominant participant to a reluctant participant in the team.
Create an environment where there are dominant participants and you’ll see that your team’s productivity is not doubled but quadrupled.
PS: Dominant participants need to be channeled properly to attain maximum productivity, because dominance isn’t good for the team-members, as they are the once who are short-changed in the process. So, creating and nurturing a dominant participant is an art. Hint: There are several areas that require dominance, every team member can dominate.
