HEMA MAMI- sad demise
OMG!! its so unfair and its so damn shocking, it breaks the peaceful life of almost 'n' dozens of people in the family. One of my MAMI who used to stay in Bombay met with an atrocious auto rickshaw accident which resdulted in her death.
Hema Mami- She was a very lively and a very caring Mami of mine, actually she is mami to my mom but it seems every1 called her mami. She lived with Laxman Mama in Nerul in bank quarters, which was a very peaceful and safe area, But as i have not been to Mumbai in the recent past i cant comment on the present situation. She has a son and daughter (both happily married) who fall 2 be my mothers first cousins. When i was in Mumbai, we used to go 2 there house pretty often (once a month at least) and also received them in our house quite number of times.
Mami always used to be animated and healthily active, which everyone liked. Mama would always add pun to every statement of his and make it incorrigibly humorous. Mama & Mami were very cordial and understanding with each other, this could be felt by everyone in the place.
Everyone (bhaskar(son) & his wife, Laxman Mama, Hema Mami) were sitting in the car and everybody was heading back home, Mami told that she wanted to buy some milk packets and just told them that she would buy it from an adjacently placed shop. She went ahead for buying the milk and as usual everybody was waiting inside the car for her return. After some time, Bhaskar (son) got suspicious about her late return and presumed that she would have run into some of her friend and would be chatting with them, So he went to get her back but as he went he saw that a lot many people were gathered due to some person being hit by an auto rickshaw, he went to see the person and it was none other that "his mom (mami)". Her head was oozing out blood and on witnessing that he directly took her to the nearby hospital and they said they do not have a ICU in their hospital, so they rushed to the other hospital nearby but due to the bad time; in this hospital there were no ICU vacancies i.e. everything was occupied but they were ready to help with their ambulance; finally, they went to the third hospital and admitted her.
For the first 12hrs, her brain was swelling and it was not having a proper supply of blood, so the doctors split the head and kept it for the swelling to reduce and for the blood to flow to the brain. Then about 5hrs later they said that the blood is flowing to the brain and it isn't as critical as it was b4 but still we cant say anything, Her son saw her eyeball movement and informed everyone that it was improving. This information was forged unknowingly to everyone and all the tenseness in the peoples brain went off. But then after around 1hr they said there is no hope of reviving her and she would not live any more, still we dint loose our hopes as we were waiting for some miracle to happen but then after some 15min she was declared dead.
PS: i was in chennai and she died in Bombay, so all of them(mama's brothers) from chennai including nani left to Bombay within an hour or two.
PS2: everybody had a gush of sorrowful tears coming out due to such an unprecedented death.
PS3: everybody was shocked and it was not easy to except such a thing.
PS4: Now there is a wonderful lesson to learn, living and dying is FATE and it cannot be changed whereas the humanly modification can change our state of living but there is a lot of distinction in those two aspects(state of living vs living).
