Most of us are living the same life
Some of our 60 year old folks at home have retired from their government jobs and some are enjoying the first-class treatment in their privately-held offices. But on the whole, I see that both of them bought a couple of flats, gave their kids expensive education, had lots of fun stories to tell their kids, got themselves all the required insurance, and all that.
It’s a no-brainer than private offices pay their employees way more than what government offices do, but then, the crucial thing to watch out for in every person is how much of their earnings got converted into profitable investments.
About profitable investments! somehow, when I meet the 20-30 old people I know of, I realize that they are all in the same page. All of them are getting equally miserable with old age (that’s how old people die, that’s normal), and
all of them are getting equally intolerant to giving-a-fuck to anything they don’t like and consider trivial. For instance, they love to talk about love/trust/how-to-make-decisions/how-they-screwed-up-in-life/how-not-to-screw-up-in-life….but then, try talking to them about your salary, your beautiful house, or your branded watch – they will think you are bullshitting them.
This gives me a feeling that most of us live the same “life” because everything normalizes. You and your friends end-up having the same amount of fun, you and your friends end-up buying the same things, you and your friends end-up having the same problems. We even die in the same way.
