If you are going for an interview and you don't have good grades
But before that, just listen to this…when your competitor provides something that you don't, you don’t simply counter what your competitor provides, instead, you tell the potential buyer what else you can provide that your competitor doesn’t and why all-that-the-competitor-provides isn’t that relevant to the buyer. For instance, if you can convince the buyer that the competitor has some extra features in the product that he doesn’t really need, then you have higher chances of making a sale. This applies to our daily lives too, that is, in the way we talk to people. A lot of us convince others to buy this idea: what we have is great and what other have isn’t so good. Please, for god’s sake, don’t ever tell people how you are better than others or how others are inferior to you…that’ll be really foolish of you (this is basic, isn’t it!).
So, If you are going for an interview and you don’t have good grades: don’t say, getting better grades is a waste of time and grades don’t matter in your case…instead, if you are asked about the low grades, boldly reply about all that you have got to offer that guys-with-better-grades can’t and why some of the things that guys-with-better-grades offer is irrelevant to the position (you didn’t answer the question, but the questioner got your point J).
Bingo! You are hired!
