Everything Overpriced
It's a first weekend of the month, today as usual the newspapers are full of ads (just like any other day). But why did "The Hindu" have a solid 8 pages+ 5 pages (extras) on SALES, DISCOUNTS & the so call SAVINGS?? Its an easy one, coz people have just got their pay which is ready for disposal...;-)
So, the bottom line is
Consumerism is in our blood, faltu ka kharch is really a part of life. Now, it's not that I JUST realized about what I said above (just to make things clear). Its just that today in the store, I couldn't push myself to buy those discounted stuff even after cutting that 40% off the so called actual price tag, it was really not worth it. Why suddenly does a price tag matter to me? that's coz whose hard earned money is put to use (my own), for around a year now; from when I started working, there is nothing which is branded in my collection...back in time when my parents purchased everything (they still do), I really dint care about the price tag & just went on with what I liked. Being from the IYER/BRAHMAN clan ;-), I boast of being very hardheaded with economics, I see economics in every god damn thing...literally everything ;-), but again, I am thrifty but not a saver who saves for no particular reason.
So, the bottom line is
Everything is overpriced, Doctors relate it to health but I think it applies everywhere that "Awareness/Knowledge is the best prescription", be aware and don't just burn your cash on overpriced stuff just to give you the feel of how grand u've become, ur still the same no matter what.
