Wipro- FRP sheet
Oh my god! this week was so damn quick, never ever have I been occupied for 13hrs a day. FRP (fundamental Readiness Program) being the first assessment for our batch, everyone was quiet nervous (its been long we wrote an exam). It's considerably the easiest of the two assessment but whatever they say, its gonna be easy questions with confusing choices.
Exam!! what to look out for??
- Carelessness & Confusion are those which might pull you down the 70 percent mark.
- Questions are really easy, that's how it looks but the choices really trick you.
- FRP is really really really simple but I think only around 25-30% pass the test.
- Read the material, around 500 sample questions...work them in your C compiler & then there is no looking back.
FRP Training Hall- Learning Center 1,Diamond Hall (Talent Transformation)
A Wipro FRP Week
Day 1 Basic c programming & all that we learned in engineering 1st semester (basics)...variable, data types, statements, functions etc. but it ain't the same as what we learnt in our college; Here we learn troubleshooting & concepts way better than what’s taught in our colleges.
Day 2 Proceeding with all that we learned in C basics. Started the day with pointers & went on to do till data structures basics. Everything goes quick but we understand all that they teach coz the faculty is really good, there is no problem in teaching but when you practically start coding (all that which is taught), a lot of things gets screwed up coz most of us have not been in touch with C programming for more than 4 years (as we had C programming only in the 1st year). At the end of the day, we have an assessment, which has 2 questions per log in, we are expected to code any one of the questions. Its called as the PET LAB- Program Evaluation Test. Its taken lightly by every trainee coz that doesn't have much of a significance in our training.
Day 3 Data structures all day, we started our day with Linked lists & went on till stacks & queues. Lots of graphs, diagrams & explanations. It’s altogether a new thing for people who forgot to revise these concepts prior to their joining. For guys who have already learned Data Structures in engineering, its quiet easy to understand but again it's kinda impossible to think of coding it. Again, an assessment to finish our day.
Day 4 Data structures all day, the same as yesterday. It gets a little more frustrating but anyhow its made interesting in the big amphitheatre provided to us (CDC2=learning centre 1- Diamond hall).
Day 5 The final day of C programming, this day is not that taxing coz all that which was required to be done was done by yesterday. This day goes free w.r.t the other FRP days. Again Assessments to finally end the FRP.
Trivial things you need to know
- You get a temporary ID card on the Induction day itself
- For the first 3 days, WIPRO buses are free of cost for the new trainees. Don’t forget to flash your ID card (if asked).
- You will get your login ID & password for employee login portal. All that you do in the company is done through it. (Like bus pass, bike pass, leaves, calendar, schedule, news etc
- You get periodic tea breaks, lunch breaks. Trust me, it’s very much requiredYou also have 10 programs to submit as assignment in your PET Lab, all those questions are same for everyone in the batch. So, its easy to finish...I don’t need to tell you HOW!!..;-P
- FRP is objective type & you need to score 35/50 to clear FRP i.e 70%.
- Don't forget to bring your Let us C book by Yashwant Kanitkar...I forgot that at home ;-(
PS: Day 6 i.e. today was my FRP, I got a 37/50 in the FRP. Yahoo!! its 74 on 100, I cleared...not a big deal, around a 10-15 guys got 80+.
