Now, I mean right now
Sometimes there is no time to think, you need to give your final verdict then and there (Snap Judgement). In all probabilities, what seems right to you now may not appear to be the best decision later in time.
A sad event - You just cant help it, you need to let go and there is no way out. When you lose someone, that's when you think of what next (actually you are forced to think what next?). Only when you have lost everything, that's when you are free to do anything.
A happy event - You are the man!, you took the best in you and showcased all that you got, someone else out there became your fan and suddenly, you make total sense. You don't know what to do, but its best if you just jump in.
Gandhi ji did not have a board meeting or some kind of forecast sheet in hand when he agreed to split India and Pakistan. All over the country, people were killing each other, and partition seemed to be the best decision then, but, now we don't think it was a good decision coz we still have fights and there is this evergreen chaos in Kashmir.

Got an admission, got a job, got a better job, got a girlfriend, got married, got kids, got them married...we were not really ready for all the things we got, it was the best thing for us, and why should we possibly resist something good. We simply wanted it to happen, it turns out to be a good decision for some and not so good for many.
