Franchise India 2009- Hyderabad
Amazing amazing time at the FRO 2009 (Franchise India 2009). It was my first time to such an event, by the way I was a exhibitor in that franchise exhibition. There were around 62 franchisers present in that hall (HICC-Hyderabad International Convention Center).
As an exhibitor, we had to do some preparation (some tips for exhibitors)
- Come one day before to set up and get your things running.
- You are provided with not so cheap labour to set up your flexes/hoarding in the stall.
- Make it a point to get your stall placement correct coz its really good to be placed near a food stall or near the entrance/exit instead of being cornered somewhere in the hall
- Be flashy with your flexes coz color needs to be bright (but no very bright) for the passerby to identify the crux of your business in a sight.
- Have good to great employees giving the presentations to the franchisee lookouts, a clear cut interpretation of what we have got to offer.
In presentations, whats clearly felt
- Never try to bloat your business, make it clear and let the visitor be free of your marketing strategies (only in the beginning)
- once the guy questions & shows even slight interest in your business model, pour the entire presentation in a way which is good to listen & defines the benefits in the model
- Give pauses between the presentation for your visitors to come up with a question or doubt
- Always make sure that your visitor is not buried under the information you give, just re-check time to time weather your visitor got the point or not
- Smile & first give the handouts, dont directly start your tape recorder coz there is no point is trying to explain your business model to a guy who just doesn't have any interest in your product & is possibly a false call
Our team
A well balanced team; both professionally and friendly is required. We had marketing guys, technical guys & the counsellors. Our bosses was around for a lot of time (helping out with certain visitors). There was never a time which went unoccupied, at times it was really hectic.
on the 10th- preparation for setting up our stall & installing our stuff in the stall.
on the 11th- first day @ FRO 2009, really a huge pool of people visiting our stall (all business men/business oriented).
on the 12th- second day @ FRO 2009, again the same number of people but quiet different from the 11th (coz the people on the 11th were strictly business oriented & not so techie)
its just been a straight 12hours of work for me, I am loving it but still its too much to take if asked to do everyday. Anyhow, work hard & party harder is what we did. After exhibition we would end up spending the night in a bar or a pub...how cool is that!!
IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU DESERVE IT, THEN YOU ARE INVITED!!
(that's what our boss said when we were getting ready for the post exhibition treat (live life in EXCESS pub)...by the way, I think all of us earned it, so everyone was present for the party)...cheers
PS: It was too good, loved it & would be more than happy to do something like this again
PS: Got to see different business stuff, Met lotsa business people, Lotsa talking/interaction with different types of people.
PS: My role: the presenter, stall counsellor or anything you've gotta say of that sought. I was really an integral part of the team (I guess)...;-)
