Information change

For one millionth time, Change is essential. Things have changed for me on a personal front but mainly, professional front. I have been reading like  5-6 hrs a day and for me, encyclopedia is just PAPER now ;-).  I am very excited to know about INFORMATION as a subject, information is just a day to day word for many, but, I find that the most important change of all occurs in  this "Information". Information change is deadly and can cause a hell lot of chaos or it can fix things on an altogether different levels.Reading content gets you closer to what the writer wants you to understand/interpret about that someone/something in the content (be it about buying a product, about a politician/person or current affairs).

Content gets you high w.r.t your information archiving capacity. Exhaustive reading can either confuse you as hell or make you one of the most sought after research writer. Driving conclusion out of a situation is about formulating all the information gathered from the sources around and there is no way we can question the sources. Information change: referring to a line in a column "information is never adequate", be it in companies or individuals, everyone is information greedy and it all boils down to 'how aware and alert you stay to find what’s what'. I witnessed information change myself, this time, I was the guy who was in the epicenter of some sort of a finding, after a few days, I read an article published in HBR (arguably the best case study journal) about the same information, and I was stunned to find that its gone under immense change and the story is not even a glimpse of how it was understood by me.

Either you understand things your way (be it correct or incorrect) or you let these HBR guys do it for you. More than often, we don't have time to come up with a conclusion and we rely on these guys to explain us and justify their form of conclusion, there is a big big IF...if you know what I mean.Information gets into you and it occupies a mindset which can be very lucrative to many and hurt many more.

For instance:
  • Tomorrow some big shot says, this particular person's product is infallible, you believe it and buy it (not advertising/branding, I am talking about sectoral products)
  • You should put your money in so and so stock, you trust him and put your money there
  • What is healthy and whats not, you follow the regime blindly
  • Whats attractive and whats not, which brand should you go for etc.
I am just trying to say, come up with your own conclusions and don't blindly follow whats written on the paper/case studies/editorials.Publishing is business and its simply, selling an idea and occupying the required mindset of the readers. Have a good day, beware of content which drives you to a conclusion about something, Read safe ;-)
